Accessibility

We build against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. In practice that means readable contrast, text that survives being zoomed, a keyboard path to everything you can click, real headings and landmarks so a screen reader can navigate, and captions or transcripts on the media we publish.

We have not yet completed a formal third-party accessibility audit, so we are not going to claim full conformance. That would be a promise we have not tested. What we can tell you honestly:

• Colour and contrast are set from a fixed palette chosen to stay readable, and we check contrast when we add new components.
• The site is built from standard semantic HTML with real headings, links and buttons, which is most of what assistive technology needs.
• The study library is a large, dense interface and is the area most likely to have gaps. If it fights you, tell us and we will get you the same information another way.
• Some older pages and embedded third-party tools have not been reviewed individually. Anything hosted by another company is partly outside our control, though we will chase them.

If any part of this site stops you getting to something, that is a bug and we want to know. Write to ryan@theholistichub.org with the page address and what happened. You do not need to know the technical name for the problem. "The text disappears when I zoom in" is a perfect bug report.

We aim to reply within five working days. If a fix will take longer than that, we will send you the information you were after in a format that works for you in the meantime, because waiting for a deploy is not an acceptable answer when someone cannot read a page.

• Zoom with Ctrl and + (Cmd and + on a Mac). The layout is built to reflow rather than break.
• Your device's built-in reader mode, larger text setting, or dark mode will work on these pages.
• Every page is reachable by keyboard using Tab and Enter.
