Randomized evidence is concentrated in reproductive and metabolic endpoints, usually at gram-level doses. Form and ratio matter and are often unreported. Structure/function only.

How it works

  • Sense — inositol phosphoglycans act as second messengers downstream of the insulin receptor, the mechanism behind inositol's study in insulin signalling

  • Build — myo-inositol is a structural precursor to phosphatidylinositol, a membrane phospholipid and the substrate for the PI3K signalling pathway

  • Exchange — myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol interconvert via an epimerase, and the ratio between them differs by tissue, which is why studies specify the form

  • Regulate — studied in ovarian function, where the largest body of randomized evidence sits, typically at gram-level doses over months

Form matters

The same nutrient can be made in very different forms — and a study done on one form does not automatically apply to another. Methylcobalamin is not cyanocobalamin; magnesium glycinate is not magnesium oxide; a whole-food extract is not the synthetic isolate that was studied. Two things decide whether what is in the bottle behaves like the research: the exact form, and independent lab verification (a Certificate of Analysis) that the form and dose on the label are truly what is inside. Without a COA, you are trusting a label, not the science.
