Solid, well-established physiology for stool bulk and transit time; this is largely a mechanical effect, and there is no honest mind-function claim to attach to it.
How it works
Exchange — adds bulk and holds water in the gut lumen, mechanically speeding transit and diluting contact between the gut lining and colonic contents
Maintain — increases stool frequency and softness; shorter colonic transit time reduces exposure duration for the gut wall
Adapt — minor fermentation by select bacterial species contributes some microbiome-shaping effect, but far less than soluble fiber
Exchange — unlike soluble fiber, insoluble fiber does not meaningfully bind bile acids or slow glucose absorption, which is why its physiological role is described separately from soluble fiber's cardiometabolic effects even though both are commonly grouped together as simply 'fiber'
Form matters
The same nutrient can be made in very different forms — and a study done on one form does not automatically apply to another. Methylcobalamin is not cyanocobalamin; magnesium glycinate is not magnesium oxide; a whole-food extract is not the synthetic isolate that was studied. Two things decide whether what is in the bottle behaves like the research: the exact form, and independent lab verification (a Certificate of Analysis) that the form and dose on the label are truly what is inside. Without a COA, you are trusting a label, not the science.
