ANTIOXIDANT

Citrus bioflavonoids

Antioxidant — also: bioflavonoids, citrus bioflavonoids, citrus flavonoids

One ingredient, seen the whole way through: what it is, how it works, the honest evidence, the form that matters, the systems it touches, and the studies behind it.

Long-standing but largely mechanistic/observational vascular-support literature; no dose-matched human RCT located for the 200mg ageLOC Youth inclusion specifically. Structure/function only.

How it works

  • Exchange — supports capillary wall integrity and permeability, historically studied alongside vitamin C for microvascular function

  • Maintain — antioxidant flavonoids that help stabilize vitamin C and reduce oxidative damage to vascular tissue

  • Adapt — hesperidin and naringin are also studied for modulating the metabolism of co-administered compounds by inhibiting certain intestinal CYP3A4 enzyme activity (most famously documented with grapefruit-drug interactions), a real pharmacokinetic interaction worth flagging for anyone on interacting medications

  • Exchange — flavonoid glycosides like hesperidin and naringin require gut-bacterial deglycosylation before absorption, so individual gut-microbiome composition affects how much active aglycone form actually reaches circulation

Form matters

The same nutrient can be made in very different forms — and a study done on one form does not automatically apply to another. Methylcobalamin is not cyanocobalamin; magnesium glycinate is not magnesium oxide; a whole-food extract is not the synthetic isolate that was studied. Two things decide whether what is in the bottle behaves like the research: the exact form, and independent lab verification (a Certificate of Analysis) that the form and dose on the label are truly what is inside. Without a COA, you are trusting a label, not the science.
