MYND360 Sharp Focus's 110mg is a modest RDA-rationale dose, not a clinically dosed cognitive-enhancement active on its own. Mechanistic role as an acetylcholine precursor is well established. Structure/function only.
How it works
Build — required substrate for phosphatidylcholine synthesis, a core structural phospholipid of every cell membrane
Exchange — feeds into one-carbon/methylation metabolism via betaine, supporting methyl-group transfer
Process — direct precursor to acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter most associated with attention and memory signaling
Adapt — choline is also a methyl-group donor (via betaine) in the same one-carbon metabolism network as folate and B12, so status in any one of these three nutrients can partly compensate for -- or worsen -- a shortfall in the others
Build — the body can synthesize some choline endogenously via the PEMT pathway (converting phosphatidylethanolamine to phosphatidylcholine), but this pathway is estrogen-dependent and less active in men and postmenopausal women, part of why dietary choline needs vary by sex and life stage
Form matters
The same nutrient can be made in very different forms — and a study done on one form does not automatically apply to another. Methylcobalamin is not cyanocobalamin; magnesium glycinate is not magnesium oxide; a whole-food extract is not the synthetic isolate that was studied. Two things decide whether what is in the bottle behaves like the research: the exact form, and independent lab verification (a Certificate of Analysis) that the form and dose on the label are truly what is inside. Without a COA, you are trusting a label, not the science.
