How it works

  • Adapt — derived from cruciferous vegetables, shifts liver estrogen metabolism toward the 2-hydroxyestrone pathway, raising the 2-hydroxyestrone : 16-alpha-hydroxyestrone metabolite ratio

  • Maintain — modulates phase-I (CYP1A) and phase-II detoxification enzyme expression involved in hormone and xenobiotic clearance

  • Exchange — I3C is unstable in stomach acid and rapidly self-condenses into DIM and other oligomers before absorption, which is why finished supplements are typically standardized and dosed as DIM directly rather than relying on I3C conversion in vivo

  • Adapt — DIM is also studied as a mild activator of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR), a transcription factor that helps coordinate the cell's broader xenobiotic-response gene program alongside its CYP1A effects

Form matters

The same nutrient can be made in very different forms — and a study done on one form does not automatically apply to another. Methylcobalamin is not cyanocobalamin; magnesium glycinate is not magnesium oxide; a whole-food extract is not the synthetic isolate that was studied. Two things decide whether what is in the bottle behaves like the research: the exact form, and independent lab verification (a Certificate of Analysis) that the form and dose on the label are truly what is inside. Without a COA, you are trusting a label, not the science.
