Why the liver
It sits at the center of the map.
The liver builds bile,62 clears used hormones80 and holds the machinery that handles what the body cannot use.116 What it can do depends on what it is supplied with.
- Hormones and menopause. The liver clears estrogen.80,81 Reviews of menopause and the liver describe estrogen decline alongside rising fatty liver risk,79 and the route of hormone therapy changes what the liver sees.82,83
- Thyroid. The liver is a main site where inactive T4 becomes active T3.91,93 A review of the thyroid-liver axis ties low thyroid output to fatty liver in both directions,92,94 and a systematic review found hypothyroidism associated with fatty liver.95 That is why iodine and selenium sit beside this program.
- Kidneys. Liver and kidney share the load,105 and reviews of the liver-kidney axis follow damage that crosses from one to the other.103,104
- Heavy metals. Lead, cadmium and arsenic reach the liver,120 which relies on glutathione to handle them.118,119Reviews link low-dose metal exposure to liver stress,115,121 and a review of animal and human work found curcumin reduced liver damage from several metals.117
- Parasites. Liver flukes and schistosomes live in and around the liver.127,128 The human evidence is infection and exposure risk, which is why a parasite program is a separate box.129
The plants in the box
What the research on each one measured.
Milk thistle. Meta-analyses of trials in people with fatty liver found silymarin associated with lower liver enzymes than placebo,2,3,4 and one systematic review found about two thirds of studies saw that drop.5 In a 180-day double-blind trial, a silymarin blend also improved sleep and quality of life.1
Dandelion and yellow dock. In a 12-week trial in people with fatty liver, dandelion capsules lowered liver fibrosis and ALT and AST.13Over 90 days, a daily blend of milk thistle, turmeric, dandelion and ginger lowered ALT, AST and GGT against placebo,14 and an Ayurvedic blend of the same herbs improved fatty-liver grading.15 In Indonesia, a traditional jamu formula of turmeric and dandelion matched schisandra in lowering liver enzymes.16 Yellow dock is one of the bitter roots of the old spring tonics, and in Pakistan it still ranks first by use value among the wild plants people use for health care.25
Reishi. Chinese medicine has used reishi, lingzhi, for the liver for some two thousand years. In a six-month double-blind trial in 42 adults, it lowered liver enzymes and moved mild fatty liver back toward normal on ultrasound.37 A meta-analysis of 13 human trials found lower ALT,38 and in patients with liver injury from mushroom poisoning, reishi was linked to shorter hospital stays.39 Its triterpenes protect liver cells against toxic injury as well.41,42
Turmeric. Umbrella and standard meta-analyses of randomized trials in fatty liver51 found curcumin or turmeric lowered ALT and AST.49,50
Olive oil, bile and magnesium. Dietary fat is the body's signal to release bile,61,62 which is why the final night uses olive oil. Low magnesium tracks with liver disease progression,67,68and the kit carries magnesium twice.
The lineage
The ancient calendars knew.
Most indigenous cultures build flushes and cleanses into the natural cycle of the seasons. Traditional Chinese medicine names spring as liver season and clears the liver then. Ayurveda keeps ritucharya, a routine written for each season, and panchakarma for the deeper reset. Seasonal fasting runs through traditions on every continent.
Thousands of years of practice kept because it was used is evidence, not folklore. Modern work has started to measure the pieces: traditional herbal formulas143,144,145and fasting patterns have been tested in people with fatty liver and tracked through liver enzymes141,142 and liver fat.139,140
Nothing fancy
Simple ingredients that most people are missing.
The kit lines up with the nutrients most people run short of: potassium, magnesium, full-spectrum vitamin E, vitamin C, iodine and selenium. Standard labs do not measure them well. A thyroid panel never measures iodine. Blood magnesium and potassium read the blood, not the cell, where nearly all of both live.
The numbers are not close. In national survey data, 84% of US adults fell below the average requirement for vitamin E and 46% for vitamin C.151 Median urinary iodine in US women of childbearing age fell from 135 to 103.5 over two decades,155,156 and nearly half of pregnant women sat below the requirement even with supplements.154Low selenium153 and low urinary potassium152 each tracked with higher mortality in cohort data.
The kit carries magnesium twice, as ozonated magnesium oxide and as Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate). The rest of the shortfall list is in the companions below.
One system, the whole body
It supports the system you already have.
Your body already has a detoxification system. The cleanse gives it what it runs on: the nutrients those pathways are built from, the fiber and fluid that carry the products out, and the sweat and circulation that movement supports.
Nothing in the body works alone. The liver makes the bile the gut moves out, the gut sends back everything the liver has to process, and hormones, the thyroid, energy and skin all lean on how well the two are doing. Give one system what it needs and the systems it talks to get easier to run.
Chinese medicine has said this for a very long time. It pairs the liver with the free flow of energy through the whole body, and with anger. A liver that is stuck shows up as tension and irritability. A liver that moves freely shows up as ease.
That is why the cleanse comes with company. The six pieces in the box do the clearing, and the products below fill the shortfalls that keep the whole system from running well.

Six days. Basic ingredients. Twice or three times a year.
The seasonal reset, in one box, with a VIP session to walk you through it.
The Liver Cleanse Program is a 6-day kit from Global Healing at $99.95: Oxy-Powder, Liver Health, Turmeric, organic extra virgin olive oil, Epsom salt, an instruction booklet and a 15-minute VIP support session. It follows the old seasonal pattern of a yearly flush, and it is built from basic ingredients, magnesium twice among them. The evidence best supports giving the liver's own pathways what they run on, not claiming anything is pulled out.
Liver Cleanse: the common questions
What is in the Liver Cleanse Program?
A 6-day kit: Oxy-Powder (magnesium from ozonated magnesium oxide), Liver Health (organic milk thistle, reishi fruiting body, yellow dock, dandelion and turmeric), Turmeric, organic extra virgin olive oil, Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate), an instruction booklet and a 15-minute VIP support session.
How often is it used?
Use it 2 to 3 times a year with at least 1 week of rest between rounds, which follows the seasonal pattern many traditions used. On the final night the kit uses olive oil with 4 oz of grapefruit or orange juice, then lying on the right side for 30 minutes.
Why do traditions cleanse by season?
Traditional Chinese medicine calls spring liver season, Ayurveda keeps a routine for each season (ritucharya) and panchakarma for a deeper reset, and seasonal fasting appears across cultures. Thousands of years of retained practice is lineage evidence. Modern trials have tested fasting patterns and herbal formulas through liver enzymes and liver fat in people with fatty liver.
Does it remove toxins?
No claim of that kind is made. Your body already has a detoxification system, and the evidence best supports giving it what it needs to run: the nutrients its pathways are built from, fiber and fluid to carry products out, and the sweat and circulation movement supports. Sweat excretion of metals is real and a small literature.
How is the liver tied to thyroid and hormones?
The liver is a main site where thyroid hormone T4 becomes active T3, and reviews link low thyroid output and fatty liver in both directions. It also clears estrogen, and reviews describe estrogen decline in menopause alongside rising fatty liver risk. This is why iodine, selenium and magnesium are listed beside the program.
Which nutrients line up with the kit?
Potassium, magnesium, full-spectrum vitamin E, vitamin C, iodine and selenium, which standard labs do not measure well. A thyroid panel never measures iodine. In US survey data 84 percent of adults fell below the average requirement for vitamin E and 46 percent for vitamin C, and median urinary iodine in women of childbearing age fell from 135 to 103.5 micrograms per litre between 2001 and 2020.
Why is magnesium in the kit twice?
Oxy-Powder is magnesium from ozonated magnesium oxide and Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate. For magnesium on its own, Earth Harmony Magnesium Glycinate is magnesium with no calcium alongside it, and Global Healing Calcium and Magnesium is the combination form.
Who should think twice before the olive oil step?
The oil step makes the gallbladder contract. People with gallstones or a bile duct problem should know that, since a contracting gallbladder can move a stone. The kit is education, not a treatment for any condition.
Is there a discount code?
No. The Global Healing link carries the referral and the price, $99.95, is the manufacturer's.
